Job Description:
We are currently looking for a qualified CPA designated professional to assist our current Senior Tax Advisor in a non-traditional public accounting role leading our tax team in the preparation and filing of business, individual, trust, 501(c)3, and gift tax returns. Our Senior Tax Director will be charged with leading the tax department and collaborating with the financial advisors for client tax optimization. This role will be primarily responsible for providing tax preparation and filing services for our individual clients, businesses, trusts, and estates. Previous professional experience in personal tax filings is required. The ideal candidate will also manage all aspects of our internal financial operations and accounting, prepare and oversee the preparation of client tax returns, and provide tax planning and strategy research. This role also involves offering financial advisory and planning services as time allows. This position does NOT require the CPA to acquire new business for the firm but has the opportunity for revenue sharing if the CPA brings over current or future relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

· Oversight, preparation, and filing of client tax returns.

· Assist clients with amended or corrected tax filings.

· Create, update, and implement tax plans on behalf of clients including withholding strategy advice.

· Communicate tax plan optimization plans with financial advisors.

· Oversee internal financial operations and accounting, including delegation to support staff.

· Perform tax planning and strategy research and conduct tax projection planning for clients.

· Manage general accounting services and personnel for the company and its clients.

· Review internal bookkeeping and payroll for accuracy.

· Assist in developing and mentoring supporting CPA roles.

· Create and execute processes within systems for tax return preparation and filing.

· Communicate with clients to set reasonable expectations for tax completion timelines.

· Conduct mid-year and end-of-year evaluations of processes and implement improvements.

· Maintain and improve upon current systems and automation capabilities.

· Assist in the preparation and filing of Office tax returns.

Qualifications:

· Active CPA designations with the state of North Carolina or reciprocity state.

· Extensive experience in tax planning, preparation, and tax strategy.

· 10 Year’s experience preferred.

· Strong leadership and mentorship skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

· Proficiency in financial and accounting software.

· Our current tech stack includes CCH Axcess, QuickBooks, SafeSend, Bill.com, Excel, and Canopy.

· We also operate off of the Microsoft Office 365 suite of services

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
