Technical Support Manager & Trainer

Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Technical Support Manager & Trainer to lead training initiatives and provide expert technical assistance in protective coatings, corrosion prevention, and maintenance applications. This role involves educating managers, sales teams, and end-users on product applications, industry standards, and best practices. Based at our headquarters in Medford, NY, this position requires occasional travel to deliver training and technical support.

Primary Responsibilities

Training & Development

• Develop and implement training programs on protective coatings, surface preparation, and application techniques.
• Create instructional materials, technical guides, and training resources for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct hands-on and virtual training sessions for managers, customers, and distribution partners.
• Stay informed on industry advancements, regulations, and technologies to ensure training materials remain current.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide expert guidance on application techniques and troubleshooting.
• Assist managers, engineers, and customers with product selection, installation, and issue resolution.
• Deliver on-site and remote support to address product performance concerns.
• Investigate potential application challenges and propose solutions to enhance product durability and effectiveness.

Industry Engagement & Knowledge Sharing

• Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional events.
• Serve as a technical liaison, strengthening relationships with distributors, clients, and industry professionals.
• Develop white papers, training manuals, and technical documentation for various audiences.

Qualifications & Competencies

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in equipment maintenance, facilities management, or coatings application.
• Background in industrial maintenance, corrosion control, and surface preparation.
• NACE or AMPP certification is a plus.

Technical & Professional Skills

• In-depth knowledge of protective coatings, industry standards, and application methods.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities, with experience in training and public speaking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to develop training materials and technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
