Position Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to create precise technical drawings, models, and plans for mechanical systems and components. This role requires experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, and a strong understanding of mechanical principles. The ideal candidate will work in both office settings and, occasionally, outdoor construction sites, requiring adaptability to different work environments.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is primarily performed in an office environment but may include outdoor construction sites with exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, wind, rain, ice, and snow.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) based on jobsite conditions.
• Frequent interaction with colleagues and occasional work under stressful conditions.
• Operates standard office equipment, including computers, calculators, fax machines, and photocopiers.
• Requires manual dexterity for handling office tasks, as well as bending, stooping, and mobility for errands or deliveries.
• Occasionally required to lift or carry up to 20 lbs.
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions of hands, wrists, and arms.
• Must efficiently complete job duties while adapting to changing priorities.
• Requires sustained focus and the ability to remain alert for long periods to ensure safe and accurate work.

Skills & Competencies

Required:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to produce precise technical drawings, models, and prints.
• Solid understanding of mechanical principles and material properties.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to conceptualize solutions, create rough designs, and refine them into final build-ready plans.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred:

• Professional degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting.
• Experience using AutoCAD and/or DraftSight.
• Knowledge of tolerancing for machining applications.
• Familiarity with metal fabrication, welding, and machining processes.
• Experience designing for wash-down environments.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
