The Electrical VDC Specialist utilizes Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to develop detailed 3D models for electrical systems, coordinated with other disciplines and contractors. This position ensures design accuracy, identifies potential clashes, and facilitates efficient installation adhering to electrical codes and project specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Using Revit, create 3D models of electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, power panels, conduits, cable trays, hangers, and other components.
- Participate in VDC meetings and prepare electrical content for coordination. Collaborate with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams to identify and resolve clashes between systems.
- Generate shop drawings and fabrication documents to streamline construction processes as the contractor requires.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including model updates, design changes, and as-built drawings.
- Assist with site visits, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
- Assist with developing and maintaining Virtual Design and Construction standards for Revit, Navisworks, and other software platforms.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT MEP, Naviswork, ACC, BIM360, and content creation processes.
- Provide Quality Drawings.
- Able to set up projects in Revit work in existing models.
- Modify details.
- Spatial Coordination between disciplines.
- Modify Families.
- Use/apply filters.
- LOD Levels 100 & 200
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, National Electrical Code (NEC), and electrical system design best practices.
- Attention to detail, ensuring accurate models with minimal errors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint, etc.
- BlueBeam proficiency
- Masterworks, Mail Manager, FTP functions.
- Submittal Reviews as directed by the engineer.
- File Management/Folder Structure.
- Using drawing checklists for the final deliverable.
- Work well under pressure with constant variations in priority and tasks.
- Experience with or knowledge of tangential electrical disciplines such as Fire Alarm, Security, Audio Visual, etc.
- Flexibility in hours and willingness to work overtime as required to complete project deadlines.
- Familiarity with construction methods, terminology, and workflows.
- Knowledge of field installations, particularly in MEP systems.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in drafting or design.
- 2-3 years of experience in electrical VDC for power systems or building systems infrastructure.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
