Role: Financial Analyst/Cost Accountant II

Responsibilities:
- Drive cost analysis and forecasting, encompassing raw materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead. Generate detailed variance reports against budgets for management review.
- Maintain meticulous cost records, ensuring data integrity for informed financial decisions and effective expense management.
- Conduct thorough cost audits, delivering analytical reports with actionable recommendations.
- Evaluate the financial impact of product design, material, process, and service changes.
- Develop accurate cost estimates for new products to support financial planning.
- Prepare pricing quotations for large-scale projects and conduct post-project cost evaluations for continuous improvement.
- Provide management with in-depth reports on pricing factors and profitability analysis.
- Manage and maintain cost accounting systems and databases for data integrity and efficiency.
- Support inventory valuation and reconcile perpetual inventory with the general ledger, resolving discrepancies.
- Assess WIP and finished goods, identifying and recommending actions for excess/obsolete stock.
- Contribute to month-end closing activities, specifically inventory accounting.
- Develop and maintain standardized cost reporting systems and databases.
- Create insightful internal performance reports and track KPIs.
- Compile monthly performance charts and contribute to external MPR reports.
- Analyze project and product costs, identifying trends and variances to optimize financial performance.
- Review, calculate, and maintain accurate pricing for standard and non-standard products.
- Collaborate with engineering on cost-effective pricing for new products and large projects.
- Conduct periodic pricing reviews based on market conditions and costs, recommending adjustments.
- Forecast future costs and develop proactive pricing strategies aligned with budget objectives.
- Travel to manufacturing facilities to understand cost structures and production processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant cost accounting experience.
- Preferred: Manufacturing cost accounting experience and understanding of manufacturing principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data interpretation abilities.
- Solid understanding of GAAP or relevant accounting standards and financial reporting.
- Preferred: Experience with cost accounting systems and software (implementation/maintenance).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (logical, lookup, reference, math functions). Working knowledge of Outlook and Word.
- Plus: Familiarity with Workwise ERP system.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams for cost standards and analysis.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
