Job Description:
Role: Mechanical BIM Designer
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Job Type: Full Time
In this role, you will:
· Manage BIM model and all related workflows for a given project (with the ability to manage multiple projects at once).
· Set up sheet views.
· Create Revit content (i.e. families, etc.) required for projects.
· Manage Revit backgrounds and linking in other disciplines (i.e. architectural, electrical, structural, etc.).
· Manage all BIM360 postings and all model related project tasks holistically.
· Attend internal project meetings to organize BIM tasks.
· Take ownership of designing/modeling HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and fire protection layouts.
· Collaborate closely with design team members, vendors, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to achieve project goals.
· Perform thorough reviews of drawings and documentation to uphold quality control and standards.
· Develop and maintain Revit/CAD templates and internal standards to optimize processes.
Requirements:
· Education: Associate of Science degree (AAS) or Bachelor of Science degree (BS) in Drafting and Design or related field, Mechanical Engineering Technology degree, or certification in drafting and BIM modeling preferred.
· Experience: 5 years of project related Revit experience and the ability to create new content including parametric families, sheets setup, view creation, model exports, manage BIM360 project requirements (posting, sharing, consuming, etc.).
· Software Skills: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
· Technical Skills: Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
· Code Knowledge: General understanding of industry standards, building codes, and energy compliance tools like COMcheck or Energy Gauge Summit.
· Soft Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with team members.
· Problem-Solving Skills: Problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
· Coordination: Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with architectural, structural, electrical, and civil project team members.
· Time Management: Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask.
· Quality Control: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency in drawings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $86,792.00 - $90,000.00 per year
