What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPC Coordinator position at E.C. Styberg Engineering Company?
As the Statistical Process (SPC) Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process) and FAIRS (First Article Inspection Reports.) Analyzing data to ensure the controls we have in place are meeting the customer's requirements. Troubleshooting areas of concern that may affect customer requirements. Create reports and send them to our customers. They work closely with quality and engineering to meet customer expectations. The SPC Coordinator will also assist the quality team with training personnel and product flow throughout the department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating efforts with various departments to ensure proper data collection and analysis using SPC methods.
- Maintain and update SPC charts and documentation.
- Analyze and process data to identify trends, patterns, and potential problems.
- Interpret statistical data to determine process capability and stability.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process variations.
- Analyzing statistical data as required to ensure proper controls are in place to ensure compliance with customer requirements
- Work with quality and engineering departments to gather data on control processes necessary for product compliance
- Communicate with internal and external customers and auditors.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement based on SPC data analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products for preparing reports and presentations on process performance and SPC activities.
- Assist with the developmental training of quality personnel
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a strong preference for an Associate's Degree or higher in a related Business program or equivalent work experience (3-5 years) in an advanced quality control role
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across varying levels of the organization and with external customers and vendors
- Previous experience with SPC charting, PPAPs, and FAIRS
