Food Safety Inspector

Job Summary

E&E Foods, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Quality Assurance Technician. As a member of the Food Safety team, this role will be responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance with all food safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming and finished product inspections
• Conduct daily GMP inspections
• Monitor plant Critical Control Points and report on daily paperwork
• Conduct daily pre-op inspections
• Inspect returned product
• Place product on hold if necessary and monitor held product for proper disposal or reconditioning
• Monitor environmental temperatures in production and warehouse areas
• Responsible for weekly thermometer calibration
• Responsible for daily scale calibration
• Ensure safety, sanitation, regulatory requirements, and GMPs are followed
• Assist with conducting crew training for food safety and/or regulatory requirements
• HACCP team member
• Collect copy of all labels used; fill out label log
• Check knives in and out daily
• Help in production as needed

Requirements

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Familiar with current Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety regulations
• Familiar with HACCP principles and CCPs in plant
• Good written communication skills
• Ability to work a demanding schedule
• Able to work in cold and wet conditions
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with people of all levels and roles
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Maintain positive attitude and set a good example
• Must be adaptable to the unpredictable needs of a production environment
• Have a working knowledge of production operations

Benefits

• The starting wage is $17.00 to $19.00 per hour straight time and $25.50 to $28.50 per hour overtime
• Round trip airfare from largest city near point of hire to plan location in Alaska
