Job Summary:
As an FP&A Intern, you will play a key role in supporting financial analysis for business cases, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and assisting with month-end and quarter-end activities. You will have the opportunity to explore data visualization, provide actionable insights, and contribute to profitability initiatives and process improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious, and eager to tackle complex financial projects while developing key skills for a future career in finance.
Responsibilities:
- Data Visualization & Storytelling: Explore opportunities to drive data visualization and create compelling narratives from complex financial data to provide value to business partners.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting: Participate in financial forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting processes, translating financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data and insights to support financial analysis and business cases.
- Month-End & Quarter-End Support: Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses to support business decisions, including scenario planning, "what-if" analysis, and special projects.
- Profitability & Process Improvement: Contribute to profitability initiatives and process improvements across multiple business units, helping to drive financial performance.
- Special Projects Support: Collaborate with the FP&A team on special projects, providing analytical support and insights where needed.
Requirements:
- Currently a rising Junior/Senior enrolled in an undergraduate university.
-Able to commit to up to 40 hours a week from early June to late August.
-Able to commute to the Oakland office in a hybrid modality for the duration of the internship.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel, with a curiosity for data analysis and familiarity with P&L development.Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Solution-oriented and innovative, with the desire to bring forward new ideas and contribute to all areas of the business.Strong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills—a team player who can collaborate effectively with others.
- Ability to synthesize large data sets and provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.High moral character, strong work ethic, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.
- Rising seniors preferred, but all motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.
