Overview of the Role
The Out of School Time (OST) Coordinator works with the Academic Leadership Teams at the Elementary School to support Extended Day Programming (EDP). The Out of School Time Coordinator will directly report to the Out of School Time Director, with additional guidance from the Elementary School principal.

The Out of School Time (OST) Coordinator works with the Academic Leadership Teams at the Elementary School to support Extended Day Programming (EDP). The Out of School Time Coordinator will directly report to the Out of School Time Director, with additional guidance from the Elementary School principal.
The Responsibilities Of The OST Coordinator Include
Supporting the implementation of the Elementary School Afterschool Programming (2:30 - 6:00 pm):
- Ensure consistency of school culture across programming through providing daily walk throughs and informal feedback on a predetermined basis.
- Demonstrate effective instruction to Afterschool staff when appropriate.
- Support OST Director & OST Manager with talent recruitment & retention throughout the selection process (ie. interview panel, reference check, etc.).
- At the direction of the OST Director, support the compliance with the DC Child Care Subsidy Program:
- Inspect classrooms and play areas daily, logging checks on the appropriate form and reporting issues to the OST Director & Operations Manager.
- Support in the preparation of monitoring visits through timely, accurate entries into designated systems
- Ensure & submit timely, accurate attendance records in designated systems
- Support families in guiding them through the voucher process, inclusive of paperwork collection, upload and storage
- Attend all mandatory training by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) in Washington DC.
- Support families as needed throughout the registration process
- Respond to all parent communication within 24-48 hours
- Serve as a liaison between families and the finance team
- Participate in school-wide professional development.
- Create, reflect on, and monitor progress toward one’s own professional learning plan and goals.
- Embrace E.L. Haynes rigorous educational program, including the Responsive Classroom approach.
- Observe daytime classrooms to gain ideas and learn from other experienced educators.
- Collaborate with the Elementary, Middle and High School leadership teams.
You Have:
- 3-5 years of experience working with PK-12 students;
- Experience working in a school or childcare setting;
- Outstanding organizational skills and acute attention to detail;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Growth-oriented mindset with the ability to accept direction and feedback, and work independently, when appropriate;
- Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills;
- Ability to work well on a team; and
- Humility, a sense of humor, and flexibility.
- Spanish language skills; and
- Project management experience.
