Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment using appropriate techniques and procedures.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality before sterilization.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of sterile supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are available.
• Utilize aseptic techniques during the handling of sterile items to prevent contamination.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to understand specific instrument needs for various procedures.
• Adhere to safety standards and infection control policies while performing all duties.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in sterile processing.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and sterile processing techniques is essential.
• Familiarity with inventory management practices related to medical supplies is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required to ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Certification in sterile processing or related field is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is expected.
