- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science or medical technology - Required
- AMT or ASCP - Required
- Cerner Experience - Required
- Beckman Coulter analyzers Experience - Highly Preferred
- Remisol Experience - Highly Preferred
Responsibilities:
- Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing all procedures related to assigned section and the laboratory in general. Recognizes and addresses conditions that affect test results.
- Provides training for staff in department procedures, quality assurance and instrumentation.
- Performs daily quality control in area assigned and records data.
- Collects blood and swab samples from patients when necessary.
- Assists physicians in bone marrow preparation.
- Performs proficiency testing for CAP Surveys.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
