What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver Recruiter position at E.W. Wylie?
A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a driver recruiter, you’ll ensure that we maintain a strong pipeline of highly qualified drivers. You will understand, market, and sell what Smokey Point Distributing offers drivers. You will own the process from cold-calling leads through arranging travel for the incoming drivers. Your recruitment expertise and strong interpersonal skills will keep our fleet moving forward.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Outreach and Lead Development — Cold call and develop leads to build a strong pipeline of qualified drivers.
- Candidate Engagement — Understand the SPD package and effectively sell it to move drivers forward in the pipeline.
- Driver Screening — Screen driver candidates via text, calling, emailing, and in-person interviews, to qualify drivers for hire.
- Travel and Orientation Arrangement — Arrange and organize driver orientation, travel, and accommodation for incoming driver hires.
- Driver Onboarding — Assist and collaborate with the driver orientation, driver advocate, and operations team to ensure drivers have ample support.
- Compliance — Understand, comprehend, and ensure compliance with applicable hiring laws.
- Applicant Tracking System Updates — Regularly review and ensure accurate information is entered into the application tracking system (ATS).

YOUR SKILLSET
- Driver Recruitment — Demonstrable experience in driver recruitment with a deep working knowledge of the industry.
- Proactive Recruitment — You are a proactive recruiter, and you understand the importance of following through and demonstrating integrity with all candidates regardless of qualifications.
- Communication — Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals across various forms of communication.
- Time Management and Organization — You possess strong time management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma and at least one (1) year of experience in a driver recruitment environment. An equivalent amount of education and experience will be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in human resources, or a related field and at least one (1) year of experience in a flatbed driver recruitment position. An equivalent amount of education and experience will be considered.
SALARY AND SCHEDULE
- Salary — $52,500.00- $72,500 per year, decided based on experience.
- Schedule — Full-time; Remote OR On-Site; Monday - Friday; 08:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
