Job Title: RT Level II Inspector - Aerospace Industry
Job Summary: As a RT Level II Inspector in the aerospace industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and safety of aerospace components. You will be responsible for setting up and standardizing equipment, processing parts, interpreting and evaluating them for acceptance or rejection based on specific standards, and documenting the results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Standardization and Part Processing: Set up and calibrate X-ray inspection equipment. Process aerospace components using established procedures to detect internal flaws or structural defects.
- Evaluation and Documentation: Interpret X-ray images and evaluate parts for compliance with industry standards and specifications. Document inspection results and maintain records for quality assurance and compliance.
- System Performance Checks: Conduct regular performance checks of X-ray systems in accordance with applicable process standards to ensure ongoing reliability and accuracy.
- Guidance and Supervision: Provide necessary guidance and supervision to trainees and Level 1 inspectors, enhancing their skills and understanding of the X-ray inspection process.
- Procedure Development: When specified, develop detailed work instructions based on approved general procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and contractual documents. These instructions require final approval from a Level 3 certified inspector.
- Educational Engagement: Stay informed and knowledgeable about relevant product manufacturing and inspection technologies to enhance inspection quality and efficiency.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Experience: Prior experience as a Level 1 inspector with a proven track record of proficiency in X-ray inspection techniques and methodologies specific to the aerospace industry.
- Education: Formal training in X-ray inspection as applicable to the aerospace industry, including both classroom and practical on-the-job training.
- Certification: Certification to Level II in X-ray inspection, meeting industry-standard criteria and demonstrating thorough familiarity with the technique.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret technical documents and standards.
- Communication: Effective communication skills for guiding less experienced personnel and documenting inspection processes and outcomes.
