Job Summary:
The Purchasing Clerk I is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services as per the company’s needs. This involves maintaining accurate records for all purchases, monitoring inventory levels, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment is essential in this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in processing purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of assigned parts, services and shop supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor information.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, and invoices.
- Assist in issuing purchase orders.
- Assist in the preparation of reports on purchasing activities and costs.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory team and Purchasing Manager to ensure stock availability.
- Support the purchasing department in administrative tasks and projects as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company polices and procedures in all purchasing activities.
- Assist with other tasks and projects as needed.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Previous warehouse coordination and purchasing experience preferred.
- Previous experience working with an EPR system and NetSuite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal employees and external customers.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Detail oriented, strong time management skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $21.50 per hour
