EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 79,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated part time Community Education Facilitator to join the Child Advocacy Center Enrichment program.
Salary: $25
Schedule: Flexible hybrid schedule of up to 19 hours per week within the operating hours of Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM
Location: Central Islip, NY
Reports to: Division Director
What drives the core purpose of this job:
The Child Advocacy Center Part-Time Community Education Facilitator is responsible for providing child sexual abuse and domestic violence prevention and awareness trainings to students, professionals, caregivers and community members throughout the Suffolk County Long Island region.
What are the key Responsibilities:
- Learn and fully comprehend Child Safety Matters, Monique Burr training materials to ensure delivery of effective presentations to target audiences in school and community settings.
- Conduct outreach to social services providers, schools, community members, and other relevant organizations in Suffolk County to provide trainings and awareness materials.
- Develop and disseminate awareness materials available in English and Spanish to target areas in Suffolk County.
- Conduct social media campaigns with information available in English and Spanish and ensure video content is accessible to people that are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Travel to locations around Suffolk County to provide in person trainings.
- Maintain accurate database of professional contacts, presentation attendance, and presentation and outreach provided.
- Complete data collection tool after each training conducted and submit to Supervisor.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, agency presentations and trainings and related events
- Prepare monthly and quarterly statistical and annual reports as required by funding source.
What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role:
- Bachelors Level degree in Social Work, Mental Health or Behavioral Sciences preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) preferred
- Community education experience and experience working with children preferred
- Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as Google drive applications, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email.
- Knowledge of Child Abuse, Child Sexual Abuse and reporting requirements preferred.
- Excellent presentation skills, experience providing presentations a plus.
- Evening and weekend end flexibility required.
- Must have NYS driver’s license and access to an automobile.
