Director of Kids Ministry
Full-time, exempt
SUMMARY
The primary purpose for Kids Ministry is to provide a safe, warm, and welcoming community where children get a sense of belonging, hear the Gospel, are nurtured in their faith and are encouraged to live a life of discipleship. Kids Ministry leaders must be role models in faith, conduct, speech, and attitudes.
RESPONSIBLE TO
Reports to the Lead Pastor and follows the organizational structure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The main role for the Director of Kids Ministry is to serve children and their families by building a loving and caring team that develops relationships with families, and facilitates effective, year-round programming.
- Provide leadership for all Kids programs (birth-5th Grade), including Sunday school, Awana, and other events.
- Recruit and maintain a team of volunteers through training, equipping, and supporting their ministry with children and families.
- Oversee the design and development of programs and activities for spiritual growth and outreach that cultivate a fun, safe and welcoming environment where children can grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and others.
- Provide support, regular interaction and good communication with families, parents, and volunteers.
- Ensure implementation of the Child Safety Policy.
- Pray for the children and families in our church.
- Maintain accurate records of family information and attendance.
- Maintain Kids Ministry spaces ensuring the space is neat and clean.
- Work in developing and maintaining the annual budget for Kids Ministry.
- Supervise the Kids Ministry staff through regular meetings and check-ins.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and regularly scheduled 1:1’s with supervisor.
- Additional ministry-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong Christian testimony.
- Proven experience in Kids Ministries.
- Proven ability to build and coordinate a volunteer team.
- Proven ability to teach and proclaim Biblical truth in a way that connects with children so that they can develop a growing relationship with Jesus.
- Self-starter with excellent organization, communication, and relational skills.
- Spirit of perseverance, creativity, and enthusiasm.
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented atmosphere.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use additional software. Experience with church management software is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Christian ministry or related field.
- Affirm the Eagan Hills Church Statement of Faith, Scripture, and C&MA doctrine.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Salary range: $42,000-$56,000
- Exempt Status
- Health Care stipend: $6,000 annually
- 401K Employer match 100% up to 4% and 50% match for an additional 4% contributed
- PTO: ten workdays annually.
