Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounts receivable processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial software, and a solid understanding of debits and credits.
Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing
- Receive and review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate approvals, including timely and accurate processing to meet payment deadlines.
- Code and enter invoices with precision and attention to detail.
Vendor Management
- Interact with vendors to address inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive relationships, as well as regular reconciliation of vendor statements.
- Collaborate with internal departments to verify purchase orders, receipts, and other documentation.
Payment Processing
- Prepare and process electronic payments, such as ACH transactions and manual checks.
- Monitor and manage the payment schedule to take advantage of early payment discounts while avoiding late fees.
- Recordkeeping and Reporting
- Maintain organized and comprehensive accounts payable files and documentation.
- Participate in the development and improvement of accounts payable processes and controls.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and proficiency in.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
