Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated School Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within educational facilities. You will work closely with school staff to prevent and respond to security incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and patrol school premises to deter and detect any suspicious or unauthorized activity.
- Conduct regular checks of school grounds and surveillance cameras.
- Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies, including accidents, threats, or breaches of security.
- Assist with visitor management, including screening and issuing visitor passes.
- Provide support during school events, ensuring that security measures are adhered to.
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports of incidents, observations, and security breaches.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certification is a plus.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle conflict effectively and with professionalism.
- Familiarity with basic security equipment and protocols.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in educational environments.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and crisis management.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
