Job Overview
We are seeking a Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal applicant will be responsible for overseeing all functions related to the accounting department including maintaining accurate financial records.
Duties
- Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the month-end close process and ensure timely completion of all financial reports.
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain recordkeeping and reconciliations of all general ledger accounts including fixed assets, prepaids and allowance accounts.
- Prepare quarterly NCUA Call Reports.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits to provide necessary documentation and support.
- Ensure discrepancies, exceptions and aging items are addressed and communicated to management.
- Serve as backup to other accounting personnel
Skills
- 4 years’ experience in Controller, or similar position
- Banking or Credit Union Experience preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge and management of all accounting functions, and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial software systems.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to create and maintain advanced excel spreadsheets
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate reporting.
