Job Title: Member Service Representative (MSR)
Department: Branch Operations
Reports To: Branch Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt ST 60
Accountability Objective:
Consistently provides an atmosphere of high-quality member service. Confidently supports credit union cross sell efforts and performs transaction for members with regard to all share and loan products and services. Consult with members and provide solutions to match their financial needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Must be versed in great customer service skills via the phone.
- Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a professional manner. Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
- Cash Handling
- Cross sell credit union products and services based on member needs. Maintain current knowledge of all credit union’s services and policies.
- Open new share accounts and certificates.
- Process new account information including ordering checks, verifying eligibility, checking for appropriate signatures, filing cards, mailing welcome letters, etc. Assist members with Instant Issue ATM cards.
- Assist members in closing accounts.
- Assist member with information as to the status of pending loans.
- Ensure that all information and transactions regarding credit union members are kept confidential. Enforce strict adherence to established security procedures.
- Provide in‐person and by‐telephone general and specific service‐related information concerning credit union services or policies.
- Respond to members’ requests, problems, and complaints, and/or direct them to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance.
- Open new accounts and service existing accounts. Set up new account files, and provide members with all necessary information for membership.
- Handle requests from members for transfers of shares to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, CD transactions, line of credit advances, and any other requests received from members.
- Ensure all new account paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Process member mail transactions.
- Mail receipts and checks to members as indicated by policy and procedure.
- Prevents controllable losses through strict compliance with all security and compliance policies and procedures.
- Stays consistent and up to date with Credit Union’s trainings
- Performs duties at other branch locations when necessary
- Complete all other task, assignments or functions as assigned and/or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School diploma or equivalent, with a good mathematical aptitude.
- Minimum of 1 year of branch or equivalent experience with a financial institution.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with members and employees.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to perform accurately without constant supervision and frequent interruption.
- Ability to learn all aspects of the credit union
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
- Must have conflict resolution skills.
- Flex time may be necessary to accommodate the needs of the branch to include nights and weekends.
- Being a team player that is considerate of other employees.
- Ability to multi – task under pressure.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
