About the Role
The Director of Business Services provides visionary leadership in financial planning, budget management, the annual financial audit, and district operations. This role oversees:
- Budget Development & Fiscal Oversight – Lead budget planning and financial forecasting, ensuring alignment with district priorities.
- Accounting and Payroll – Maintain compliance, accuracy, and transparency in all financial operations including Accounting, Payroll, and Accounts Payable and Purchasing.
- Financial Audit - Lead the annual financial audit process for the School District including fiscal year-end closing process, audit preparation, General Ledger reconciliations and Journal Entries, and working directly with the financial auditors to prepare the audited financial statements.
- Grants & Resource Management – Optimize funding opportunities and ensure effective grant administration. Directly or indirectly manage all State and Federal grants.
- Risk Management & Legal Compliance – Oversee financial policies, contracts, purchasing, and district Property and Liability insurance.
- Strategic Planning & Collective Bargaining – Support long-term fiscal sustainability and negotiations. Serve as a key member of the contract negotiations team.
- Operational Leadership – Directly supervise all Business Office staff. Supervise the department heads for Transportation, Technology, Maintenance/Facilities, and Food Services..
- Employee Benefits programs - Oversee employee benefits programs including OEBB health insurance programs.
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the district's financial resources are strategically managed to maximize support for students, staff, and schools.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience in school district or public sector finance with expertise in fund accounting, budgeting, and audits.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to support district leadership.
- Must possess a working knowledge of fiscal management, legal matters, risk management, facilities, collective bargaining, technology applications, and school district operations.
- Familiarity with Oregon school finance, administration, and Oregon budget law preferred.
- Proficiency with financial software (experience with Tyler Infinite Visions preferred).
- A valid Oregon Driver’s License.
- CPA license is highly desired. SFO or governmental budget administrator certification preferred.

Title: Director of Business Services
Placement: District Office, Eagle Point, Oregon
Supervisor: Superintendent
Contract Days: 261 days per year / 8 hours per day
Salary Range: Salary placement will be dependent upon verified experience. 2024-25 Salary Range: $129,029 - $152,508 plus an excellent benefits package, including 6% PERS retirement “employee contribution” paid by the District.
