The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair of plant equipment. This individual will ensure that all mechanisms are operating properly and meet safety requirements. The Maintenance Technician will research major repair issues and report them to the Maintenance Foreman. Additionally, the Technician will ensure all deadlines are met and compliance regulations are fulfilled

Tasks:

  • Perform daily maintenance inspections on all rolling equipment, welding machines and stationary equipment as required per company policy.
  • Will disassemble and troubleshoot any equipment when there is a problem that is hindering factory production.
  • Complete maintenance repair on plant equipment to include blast booths, compressors, blast motors and drives.
  • During the disassembly, you may need to lubricate and change oil in equipment.
  • Check the performance of the different pieces of machinery, ensuring that they run correctly and that they are not hindering the operations of the plant.
  • Troubleshoot and repair 480V and medium voltage control circuits in industrial motor control cabinets.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records as well as review and follow-up equipment has returned to operation.
  • In charge of everyday maintenance work around the facility.

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures to equipment repair.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical repair, maintenance, repairs on hydraulic systems, various maintenance related testers and gauges, pneumatics, and repairs on gas and diesel engines.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical, mechanical and troubleshooting abilities to define and perform necessary repairs to equipment and machinery such as but not limited to Genie, John Deere, Rail King, Manitou, Miller, Master Craft and Grove.
  • Working knowledge of electrical parts and materials.
  • Must possess working knowledge of HVAC systems, to include HVAC parts, materials, troubleshooting, repairs, and installation.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time with limited breaks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and team lift up to 150 pounds.
  • Work in extreme temperatures and elements for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work at elevated heights.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend basic drawings and scope of work.
  • Must possess basic math skills, addition, subtraction.

Work Environment / Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time with limited breaks.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift up-to 75 pounds and team lift up-to 150 pounds.
  • Work in extreme temperatures and elements for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Working around heavy moving equipment
  • Must be able to work at elevated heights.
  • Climb, squat, bend, and twist to accomplish work tasks.

Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalence Certificate.
  • Previous Industrial Maintenance experience (preferred).
  • At least 1 year of experience Welding and Cutting w/gas torch (required).
  • At least 3 years of Electrical experience (required).
  • At least 1 year of xperience rotating equipment (preferred).
  • Electrical License (preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Programmable logic controllers: 1 year (Preferred)
  • HVAC: 1 year (Required)
  • Industrial maintenance: 3 years (Required)
  • Electrical: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Electrical License (Preferred)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (Required)
  • Night Shift (Required)

Ability to Commute:

  • Orange, TX (Required)
