Position: Estimator
Position Summary:
The Estimator prepares and provides accurate estimates for railcars by information gathered by the Car Inspector during his/her walk around inspection. This information along with photos is reviewed and data inputted into a Railcar RX database. Once data entered, the estimate is sent via email or customer data base and an approval is requested.
Responsibilities:
· Understand Customer, AAR/FRA Requirements for estimating.
· Create and submit estimates
· Perform follow ups on approvals
· Create work orders for shop
· Build relationships with customer
· Scan NDT forms and submit to customer
· Prepare estimates for invoicing
Requirements:
· Familiarity with financial and project management principles
· In depth knowledge of the AAR Field Manual & M1002 Section C-III Specs For Tank Cars
· IT and Math ability with an analytical mindset
· Proficient in relevant software
Qualities:
· Communication and negotiation abilities
· Thoroughness and reliability
· Excellent organizational skills
Experience and Education:
· High School Diploma or GED
· 3-5 years’ experience as an estimator or similar position
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
