Railcar Mechanical Leadman-Job Description

Position Title: Mechanical Leadman

Position summary:

The Mechanical Leadman will oversee workflow and be responsible for coaching, resolving issues and serving as a link between subordinates and upper management. This candidate will be an individual who will be able to guide and train employees, be well-versed in company processes, results-driven and focused. The goal is to ensure that operations are carried out productively to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• The leadmen will communicate goals and performance deadlines to subordinates based on what is provided by the Repair supervisor.
• The repair supervisor and leadmen will work together to organize the work flow. Once organized the leadmen will ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
• Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
• Receive complaints and resolve problems
• Pass on information from upper management to employees and vice versa
• Help train new employees
• Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and relay violations to Manager as needed.

• Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the field

Experience and Education:

• High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalence Certificate
• Must exhibit leadership and decision-making skills.
• At least 1 year of Railcar Repair experience (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
