PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS
Responsible for overseeing and evaluating the work of Recreation Attendants. Also ensures cleanliness and functionality of all recreation areas including but not limited to boats, bikes, fitness center, arcade, and the resort pool.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Assures that effective orientation and training is given to new associates and continue to develop ongoing training programs.
- Supervise Recreation Attendants.
- Oversee and evaluate work performance of Recreation Attendants.
- Ensure cleanliness and functionality of all recreation areas.
- Communicate concisely with Recreation Attendants, Recreation Manager, and guests in order to solve any and all problems in a timely and satisfactory matter.
- Keep track of inventory and order supplies when necessary.
- Have knowledge of recreation activities and amenities; must be able to answer questions and assist guests and subordinates in these areas. Make reservations and sales
- -recording cash, check, room charges, and paperwork in accordance to established procedures.
- Incorporate and oversee preventative maintenance.
- Assist Recreation Manager in creating and implementing new activities and programs.
- Assist and occasionally run group recreation activities.
- Create work schedules based on occupancy forecasts.
- Incorporate safe work practices in all duties.
- Computer administrative duties.
- Any additional duties as instructed by Recreation Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (AA) and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Efficient working knowledge of various software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Candidate must be able to communicate clearly with guests, supervisors, and fellow employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
REASONING ABILITY
Will be called upon to solve problems involving guests, associates, and equipment in a timely manner while minimizing guest impact.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must be able to acquire Certified Pool Operator certification.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to stand/walk around for extended periods of time. Must be able to kneel/crouch. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends and night shifts.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Varies daily. May work in hot and humid indoor conditions, outdoor weather conditions, as well as in an office setting. Frequently comes in contact with pool chemicals (mainly chlorine briquettes but also Muriatic Acid) as well as cleaning chemicals. The noise level is occasionally loud.
PAY SCALE
Starting at $17.00 p/hr.
