Sign Designer/Estimator:
Eagle Signs has a career opening for a creative custom sign designer/estimator in Yakima, WA. Position requires experience with signage design, proficiency with computers, and design-related software. Candidate must be goal and growth oriented with previous sign-related experience. Applicants shall:
- Possess good interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently or, within a highly collaborative team environment

- Be knowledgeable of architectural scales, sections, plans and elevations
- Detailed oriented
- Conceptualize and communicate ideas using hand sketches, scale drawings, computer generated illustrations and photo visualizations
- Demonstrate a high understanding of a range of signage materials, finishes, lighting, and construction techniques for experiential graphic design elements and graphics
Submittal of a digital design portfolio and resume are required. Portfolio shall demonstrate applicable graphics, signage experience. Three-dimensional visioning skills and an ability to conceptually express them (where applicable) is a plus.
Candidate must be highly proficient in the use of Corel Draw and/or Adobe Creative Suite software that includes InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Responsibilities
- Estimate and cost new signage projects
- As a Signage Designer, you will be responsible for developing concepts and designs for various types of signage, including interior and exterior signage both illuminated and non-illuminated
- You will collaborate closely with clients and the sales team to ensure that all designs meet client expectations and adhere to brand guidelines
- In this role, you will create proofs for a wide range of signage needs, which may include illuminated exterior signage, marketing graphics, and interior signs
- You will also be tasked with reading architectural prints to determine the best locations for signage and how to mount them effectively
- Create Master Sign Plans for new developments, ensuring compliance with local sign code requirements, and prepare permit drawings for signage installations according to jurisdiction-specific regulations
- Collaborate with fabricators and installers throughout the design process to ensure that concepts are practical and cost-effective
- You will be expected to extract logos, colors, fonts, and graphics from client websites when formal brand guidelines are not available
- Create proofs for a variety of signage needs
- Create production prints
- Create CNC route files
- Read architectural prints to determine appropriate locations for signage and how best to mount them to a structure
- Create Master Sign Plans for new developments, ensuring compliance with sign code requirements of the jurisdiction
- Prepare permit drawings for signage installations, adhering to each jurisdiction's specific permit requirements
- Design all final proofs with precise scaling and specific material descriptions for the production team
