WEILER CNC LATHE MACHINIST - 2ND SHIFT
Responsibilities
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
- Measure, mark, and find reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on Weiler CNC Lathe
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, (optional) enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls or control media as required
- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications
- Set up and operate machine to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data
- Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to study and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings
- Knowledge of the Metric Measurement System (training available)
- Skilled in producing high-precision parts with close tolerances
- Preferred experience in seal manufacturing or rotating equipment industry
- Expertise with stainless steel and alloy materials
- At least 5 years of experience in conventional, non-conventional, and CNC Lathe operation, with capability for advanced setups
- Fluent in English, with the ability to work in an industrial environment, stand for 8-hour shifts, lift 50lbs, and use hands for repetitive tasks
