SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing support with the day-to-day requests for the employees of the Early Learning coalition located in Palm Beach County. The IT Specialist is responsible for providing direct user support to all users in the organization, who can be located on premises or remote. This can include helping set up hardware or software, diagnosing connectivity or answering questions about hardware, software, or a variety of other questions. There will be some occasional after business hours work, primarily will involve computer management, Inventory and end user support requests.
HOURS:
This is a full-time position, and business hours at the Boynton location is Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Longer hours, evenings, and weekends may be necessary on occasion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners and storage devices for Coalition staff.
- Installs specified software packages and operating systems, manage software licenses, setting up & removing users from ELC systems.
- Responds to staff/contractor inquiries concerning end user systems and diagnoses system hardware, software, printer, copier and user problems. Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems. Refers major hardware problems to Vice President for appropriate action.
- Maintain and support network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Asset Management: Keeping track of IT assets, and good record management skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in computer science or related degree or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with industry standard software vendors such as Microsoft, Sophos, PDF editors, etc.
- Familiarity with industry hardware manufacturers such as Dell, HP, Unifi, Lenovo.
- Knowledge of industry printers and copiers such as Toshiba, HP and Xerox
- Familiar with network and routing protocols such as NAT, VLANS and VPN.
- Knowledge of MDM/EMM Services.
- Knowledge of IAAS services such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services.
- Knowledge of cloud-based productivity platforms such as Office 365, Box.com and Salesforce.com helpful.
- Training, education and/or experience may be substituted for certain minimum qualifications.
