JOB SUMMARY
Early Learning Indiana, a statewide leader in early learning services, solutions and advocacy, seeks an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join the organization during a period of organizational and operational growth. The Chief Financial Officer will be instrumental in advancing Early Learning Indiana’s mission by maintaining ELI’s financial health through effective investment management, optimized finance operations, strategic planning and capable risk management. A critical partner to the CEO and other members of the leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer will maximize all finance and accounting functions to build organizational resiliency and enable the pursuit of the organization’s short- and long-term objectives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead all budgeting, audit, accounting, treasury, financial reporting, risk management, compliance and other financial activities for the organization.
- Advise the Board of Directors and leadership team in areas of market expansion, operational growth, and development strategies.
- Drive operational excellence within functional responsibilities and influence operational efficiency across the organization.
- Ensure systems and controls are in place to maintain a high level of service throughout the organization, as well as compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Oversee grant fiscal management, reporting and compliance.
- Implement and maintain operating rhythms that align with the schedule of corporate reporting responsibilities for internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to, Board of Directors, Finance Committee, banking institutions, regulatory agencies, strategic partners, corporate partners and internal functions.
- Perform such other duties as are incidental to the position and as reasonably assigned by the President and Chief Executive Officer.

- Lead across the organization, influencing organizational strategy, operational priorities, and the culture of Team ELI.

- Routinely demonstrate the AMP pillars (act with urgency, make it matter and put children first) and expect the same from the Finance team.
- Be open for questions, feedback and good ideas from throughout the organization.
- Strive to simplify the complexity for internal and external stakeholders, refusing to allow it to slow our pace or derail our ambition.
- Amicably negotiate with teammates to achieve alignment between Finance and other teams in the event of competing priorities or timelines.
