Job Title: Evening Child Care Teacher
Location: Detroit, Michigan
Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
Wage: Starting at $15-21.50/hr Depending on Credentials obtained. Example CDA Cert, AA, BA Degree (Higher the Degree the Higher the pay rate.

Job Description:
Early Start Childcare is looking for a compassionate, energetic, and reliable Evening Child Care Teacher to join our dedicated team. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality care and engaging educational activities for children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and developmental growth during evening hours. If you’re passionate about working with children and can foster a fun, nurturing, and educational environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise children in a safe, structured, and engaging environment.
- Implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Monitor children’s behavior and apply positive discipline techniques as needed.
- Communicate with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on children's activities, behavior, and development.
- Assist with meals/snacks and ensure children’s nutritional needs are met.
- Support children with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, and overall well-being.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a smooth operation of the program and effective communication.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices in child care and early education.
- Respond to emergencies, accidents, or behavioral issues following Early Start Childcare's policies and licensing requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development Associate (CDA) or related degree is a plus.
- AA, BA OR MA Preferred due to Centers GSRP & Head Start program Interest.
- Prior experience in child care, early childhood education, or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate practices.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or the ability to obtain upon hire).
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
- A genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to their safety and well-being.
- Must be available to work evenings, typically from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
