Job Description: As a Lawn and Ornamental Grass Spray Technician for Earth Works, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and aesthetic appeal of our clients' lawns and ornamental grasses. You will use your expertise in applying pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to maintain vibrant, healthy landscapes. This role requires a strong understanding of lawn care, pest control, and safe chemical application techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides to lawns and ornamental grasses according to established schedules and procedures.
- Diagnose and treat lawn and ornamental grass problems, including pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Operate and maintain spray equipment, ensuring all tools are clean, calibrated, and in good working condition.
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust application schedules to ensure optimal results and minimize environmental impact.
- Provide expert advice to clients on lawn and ornamental grass care, including proper watering, mowing, and maintenance practices.
- Maintain accurate records of all chemical applications, including product used, quantity, and location.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemicals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Lawn and Ornamental Grass Spray Technician or in a related field.
- State certification or license in pesticide application (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass management, ornamental grass care, and integrated pest management.
- Familiarity with various types of lawn and ornamental grass species and their specific care requirements.
- Ability to diagnose and treat common lawn and ornamental grass issues effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Valid driver's license with a 3-year clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
