Sr. Civil Estimator

POSITION SUMMARY

Earthcore Development is seeking a seasoned Sr. Civil Estimator to lead bidding efforts, expand our customer base, and secure profitable projects. This role requires expertise in HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, and Bluebeam, along with extensive experience estimating earthwork, paving, wet utilities, and site concrete. The ideal candidate will manage bid requests, collaborate with preconstruction teams, and ensure accurate, competitive estimates. Strong networking and organizational skills are essential to drive revenue growth and maintain contractor relationships. As part of a fast-growing company, this role also involves refining SOPs, mentoring estimators, and aligning with Earthcore’s mission and values.

OBJECTIVES

• Prepare accurate and competitive bids for earthwork, paving, wet utilities, and site concrete projects.
• Cultivate and expand client relationships with General Contractors to increase Earthcore Development's market share.
• Drive revenue growth by strategically identifying and securing profitable civil construction projects through effective bid preparation.
• Utilize HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, and Bluebeam to streamline estimating, takeoffs, and bid submissions.
• Organize and prioritize bid requests based on due dates and project importance.
• Coordinate site visits; coordinate and lead proposal-related meetings
• Client point of contact; respond to requests for proposals, implement bid strategies to meet business objectives
• Collaborate with preconstruction teams and takeoff technicians to ensure precise project cost assessments.
• Oversee proposal production, review, and edit proposal content to ensure accuracy and compliance with requirements
• Develop and refine SOPs to enhance estimating efficiency and establish best practices.
• Analyze project specifications and risks to provide well-informed pricing and scope recommendations.
• Mentor and train junior estimators to elevate their skills and contribute to the team's overall success.

• Ability to negotiate effectively and strategically
• Excellent project management capabilities and able to meet deadlines
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple bid requests and prioritize projects based on deadlines and strategic importance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 10 years of experience with estimations & networking/sales for earthwork, paving, wet utilities, and site concrete projects.
• Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, and Bluebeam.
• Experience in sales, business development, and market analysis

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to conduct site assessments, which may involve walking, bending, or standing for extended periods on uneven terrain or construction sites.
