Job Description
The New Mexico Lead Campaigner will be responsible for leading our efforts in New Mexico to reduce the harm caused by oil and gas extraction. This position will work closely with program staff, communications, digital, and development departments to advocate for policy changes that reduce the impact of oil and gas activities.
This role involves managing multiple priorities in a dynamic campaigning environment, building solid relationships with diverse partners, and conducting fieldwork using an Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) camera. The ideal candidate will have experience in grassroots and/or non-profit policy advocacy efforts, engaging with frontline communities, and collaborating with local elected officials and allies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leveraging technical expertise to support community allies and grassroots campaigns
- Providing strategic guidance on campaign tactics targeting decision makers and corporations
- Engaging in the legislative and regulatory process to advocate for environmental protections
- Representing Earthworks at external events, meetings, and public hearings
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop strategies reducing oil and gas pollution
