Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Mortgage Processor to join our dynamic team. This is an hourly role with bonus opportunities The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the mortgage loan process by ensuring that all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with industry regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of mortgage processing, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with loan officers, underwriters, and clients.
Duties
- Review and verify loan applications and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct credit analysis to assess borrower eligibility and risk factors.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, TILA, and FNMA guidelines throughout the processing of loans.
- Coordinate with escrow companies to facilitate timely closings.
- Maintain communication with loan officers and clients to provide updates on the status of applications.
- Prepare and submit loan files for underwriting review while ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Utilize basic math skills to calculate income, debt-to-income ratios, and other financial metrics relevant to mortgage processing.
- Address any issues or discrepancies that arise during the processing phase in a timely manner.
Experience
- Previous experience in mortgage processing or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with underwriting processes and mortgage servicing is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of credit analysis techniques and basic math principles is essential.
- Understanding of industry regulations including Fair Housing regulations, TILA, FNMA guidelines, and escrow processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients throughout the loan process.
