What are the responsibilities and job description for the Household Operations Manager position at East Bay House Manager?
JOB OBJECTIVE: We are seeking a proactive, organized, and reliable House Manager to assist with maintaining the smooth running of a busy household. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including managing household chores, cooking, caring for a large dog (Bernese Mountain Dog), running errands, and assisting with childcare. The role requires excellent multitasking skills, attention to detail, and a flexible, positive attitude.
TASKS:
Household Chores: including but not limited to dishes, laundry, ironing, folding and hanging clothes, organizing clothes/drawers/cupboards/etc., emptying trashes, cleaning out refrigerator, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, straightening, ironing, sewing, etc.
Cooking: meal prep, cooking, baking .
Backyard: organizing and sweeping, cleaning and maintaining the backyard.
Errands: run errands to include but not limited to grocery shopping, dry cleaners, bank, car wash, car repair, shopping for household supplies, post office/FedEx, etc.
Pet Care: walk, feed, play with and support the grooming and care for dog (Bernese Mountain Dog).
Childcare: supervise children and assist with daily routines, including homework and meal preparation, drive children to and from school, extracurricular activities, and appointments around the East Bay.
Administrative: attend appointments, make phone calls, and arrange servicemen at the home, filing, copying, organizing, shredding, filling out forms and documents, light computer work, etc.
Other: special projects and any other chore or errand as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in a similar household or personal assistant role.
- Experience with large dog care and walking.
- Strong cooking skills, including the ability to prepare meals for the family.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Trustworthy, dependable, and capable of maintaining confidentiality.
- Friendly, positive, and flexible attitude, with a willingness to take on various tasks as needed.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a family-oriented atmosphere.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Previous experience working with children.
- Knowledge of basic household maintenance.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting and moving up to 35 lbs.
Climbing up and down stairs
Bending and reaching
Climbing short ladders
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
