Summary/Objective
The Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of routine and some non-routine accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in one or more of the following areas: general accounting, accounts payable or related financial area.
This is not an administrative position. The position requires attention to detail and critical thinking.
Essential Functions
- Under direct supervision, the position performs accounting duties, including:
- Reconcile cash accounts.
- Develop spreadsheet applications and other reporting forms.
- Document and/or update job functions in written format.
- Prepare process and maintaining accounts payable.
- Prepare financial reports for funders.
- Maintain inventory lists for all Agency assets.
- Summarize raw data for cost allocation plan.
- Maintain set of financial records for separate corporation.
- Provide appropriate data necessary for policy development and decision making.
- Compiles segments of monthly closings.
- Contacts other outside agencies to resolve problems, as directed.
- Assists in preparation of annual report.
- Conducts cross-checks for quarterly reports.
- Review semimonthly time sheets for accuracy.
- Maintains time sheet data collection.
- Other business transactions pertinent to the operation of a nonprofit organization.

Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree or related work experience

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
