What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Account Representative position at East Coast Orthotic & Prosthetic Corp.?
We are recruiting for healthcare experienced and/or educated individuals to join our Customer Service / Patient Account Representative Team. This position is based in Deer Park, NY but will work with clinical staff in medical facilities throughout Metro New York.
Full-Time position, Monday thru Friday, 8am - 5pm
Essential Functions, but not limited to:
- Enter patient demographics, insurance information, work order, prescription, notes and scan documents into Fastrack (software)
- Verify benefits with insurance carriers to obtain coverage information for items dispensed
- Calculate a patient’s deductible and co-insurance, when applicable, and educate the patient/caregiver of his/her financial responsibility
- Collect necessary medical documentation to ensure compliant patient files
- Maintain Practitioner-Patient Schedule
- Daily communication with Practitioners
- Follow up on pending authorizations and on custom deliveries
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical reimbursement and terminology.
- Advanced computer skills including Windows-based office technologies (ex: Word, Excel) Gmail, Google Sheets and automated billing systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a Plus
- Excellent interpersonal, oral (including telephone) and written communication skills.
- Ability to Understand and Meet Patient and Physician Needs.
- Strong Attention to Detail
- Must Exhibit Confidence Working in a Team and Individual Setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
