Fire Prevention Specialist Job Description
The Fire Prevention Specialist will be responsible for conducting inspections, enforcing fire codes and regulations, and educating the public on fire safety and prevention. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Functions
- Conduct inspections of commercial and residential properties to identify potential fire hazards and non-compliance with fire codes and regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to educate property owners and the general public on fire safety and prevention.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure consistent enforcement of fire codes and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, enforcement activities, and educational programs.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (fire science, building inspection, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of experience in building inspection, fire suppression, or a related field.
- International Fire Code Inspector I certification.
