Responsibilities
The fire safety specialist will be responsible for the following duties:
- Conducting regular inspections of commercial and residential properties to ensure compliance with fire safety codes and regulations.
- Enforcing laws and regulations related to fire safety, including responding to citizen complaints and issuing notices to property owners.
- Developing and implementing public education programs on fire safety and prevention, including presentations to schools, businesses, and community groups.
- Collaborating with other emergency response agencies to provide comprehensive emergency services to the community.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in fire safety and prevention, including experience with code enforcement and public education.
- A Class C driver's license.
- The ability to obtain International Fire Code Inspector I certification within 18 months of hire date.
