Facilities Maintenance Professional

Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.

Main Responsibilities:

• Clean assigned areas of the facility, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Perform trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitation duties regularly.
• Assist with snow removal from walkways and areas not plowed, and apply sand around walkways for safety.
• Set up facilities for internal and external groups.
• Open and close the building as necessary.
• Perform general maintenance tasks related to the upkeep and operation of the facility.
• Make recommendations to the maintenance director for maintenance issues outside of general knowledge.
• Ensure the general security of all building entrances and population inside.
• Conduct building checks in winter months outside of regular schedule.

Available Positions:

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

• Full Time Evening Custodian:
• 40 hours per week with overtime opportunities.
• Monday-Wednesday: 3 eight-hour shifts between 4pm and 6am (flexible scheduling).
• Thursday-Sunday: 16 hours per day, 4pm Thursday-6am Monday (flexible scheduling).
• Part Time Custodian:
• Up to 29 hours per week.
• Monday-Wednesday: 3 eight-hour shifts between 4pm and 6am (flexible scheduling).
• Thursday-Sunday: 16 hours per day, 4pm Thursday-6am Monday (flexible scheduling).
• Weekend Custodian:
• Up to 40 hours per week.
• Thursday-Sunday: 16 hours per day, 4pm Thursday-6am Monday (flexible scheduling).

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• No experience required; custodial or housekeeping experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Visual and auditory acuity.
• Hand and finger dexterity.
• Regular walking and standing on tile or cement floors.
• Regular bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, and stooping.
• Ability to climb, use ladders, and work overhead.
• Lifting and carrying of 5-50 pounds frequently.
• Lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds for possibly 20 feet on occasion.
• Ability to work under fluorescent lights.
