Injection Molding Process Technician
Job Summary:
The Injection Molding Process Technician is responsible for daily shift support in the injection molding department. Reporting to the shift supervisor, they are the Production Teams technical resource charged with starting, stopping, and setting up new injection molding processes. They will be required to troubleshooting quality or quantity issues as well as identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
Essential Functions:
- Assist production with process control and troubleshooting.
- Monitor and adjust automation to produce quality parts (3-axis robotics)
- Work with auxiliary molding support equipment (material handling, blending, thermolators, mold heat controllers, etc.)
- Provide daily technical support and problem solving.
- Create work orders for machine and tooling issues.
- Improve Overall Process Performance (utilization, efficiency, scrap).
- Record process set points per shift – Process Log Sheets (run-time charts).
- Provide data as necessary for the Supervisor to accurately complete production reporting.
- Assist in training new production personnel both non-technical and technical
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Education and Experience:
- High school or equivalent
- 3 years of experience with plastic injection molding.
- Experience with injection molding polypropylene material(s)
- Experience with automated parts handling/removal, material handling equipment, support/auxiliary equipment, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of the molding process, molding equipment, molding materials, and mold tooling.
- Experience with thin-wall, high-speed Injection Molding preferred.
- Training or certification in Scientific Injection Molding preferred
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening and authorized to work in the United States.
