What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Services Head Cook position at East Longmeadow High School?
The Role:
Looking for a self-motivated, energetic staff member to work in a high volume and fast-paced kitchen. This position follows ELPS Food Service policies and procedures as related to the preparation, serving and distribution of food items and meals. This position requires standing, lifting, bending and cleaning. This position also requires math calculations for recipe development along with food preparation and service. Daily reports and documents need to be completed accurately per state and federal guidelines. Operating the computerized cash register point of sale software may also be required. This brief summary should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including working in other functional areas to cover absences or provide relief, to equalize peak work periods or other wise balance the workload. This requires physical mobility along with full understanding of sanitation practices. A ServSafe certification would be required within six months of hire. Training is provided. Following an offer of employment, and prior to starting work, individuals must have a pre-employment physical examination by a physician designated by the Town of East Longmeadow. The Food Service Department will pay for the examination. Satisfactory clearance to perform essential job functions will be required for employment. The candidate will be responsible for obtaining and paying for a fingerprint background check. SAFIS (Statewide Applicant Fingerprint Identification Services) information will be provided to the candidate and must be completed and cleared prior to employment.
