The Advising Center Office Manager housed at the Golden Triangle campus is responsible for general secretarial and office management of the appropriate advising center office.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Route phone calls and take messages, when applicable, for advisors and director;2. Manages the advising@eastms.edu mailbox and direct students request to the appropriate personnel college-wide;3. Schedule students for ACT and other placement testing;4. All typing/word processing, electronic spreadsheet development, and database management for advising center and director;5. Assist director in maintaining personnel files for the appropriate office;6. Coordinate, collect and distribute mail for advising center;7. Disseminate outgoing mail to Business Office and appropriate departments;8. Order and maintain inventory of general office supplies for advising center;9. Maintain supplies and coordinate maintenance for office machines and equipment administration;10. Serve as receptionist for all visitors and students that visit the advising center;11. Assist students in signing up for appointments and the management of the student flow of the center;12. Assist advising center personnel and director in the preparation and maintenance of files, portfolios, special reports, and all documentation related to local, state, and federal compliance;13. Assist department personnel in the preparation and maintenance of State Inventory records;14. Enhance professional skills yearly by attending classes and seminars as needed;15. Schedules facilities related to their office for school-related and extra-curricular functions;16. File and maintain employee and student records and pertinent correspondence;17. Effectively communicates with, cooperates with and supports other college personnel in daily activities.
