What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker position at East Mississippi State Hospital?
Must have a valid license to practice Master's level social work in the State of Mississippi OR Must be licensed to practice Bachelor's level social work in the state of Mississippi; AND One year of experience related to the described duties.
Establish contact with assigned residents within 24 hours of admission or transfer to determined and document whether an advance directive has been executed.
Assist care plan team with placement/discharge planning. Both assessments will be updated quarterly and annually.
Serve on the treatment team, make recommendations for interdisciplinary treatment planning for residents and report their observations to nursing.
Provide supportive services for residents and their responsible parties.
Assist in management and use of funds belonging to the IRS so their needs are met.
Maintain competence in social work practice. Attend in-services and trainings as they come up and abide by the NASW code of ethics
Other duties as deemed necessary.
