Job Overview:
The General Clerk performs a variety of general and accounting support tasks for a small business Government Contractor located at Lake Sidney Lanier, GA, including:
· Perform a variety of clerical tasks which may include matching documentation to transactions for fuel purchases.
· Set up new customers and vendors in the accounting system.
· Maintain employee information in the accounting system. Input new hire and termination data into system.
· Perform various HR work such as process employment applications, maintain all personnel files in office and in the system, record changes on all employee status as necessary, e.g., change of address, rate increases, terminations, etc.
· Process financial information which may include invoices, payments, credits, or payroll; enters data into accounting system, Costpoint; reviews printouts for accuracy; assist in maintaining records detailing financial business transactions.
· Enter accounts payable transactions into the accounting system.
· Review invoices for accuracy in the accounting system and submit for review/concurrence by the COR, and other Government personnel. Prepare backup documentation for invoices.
· Code timesheets and calculate correct time, including overtime; enter timesheet data into excel spreadsheet.
· Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
· 3-5 years of experience.
Requires a high school diploma, an associate’s degree is a plus.

- Accounting background preferred.
- Knowledge of computer use (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of Deltek’s Costpoint preferred.
- Experience working in Federal Contracting is preferred.
- Must be able to work independently in a highly demanding environment with high attention to detail and organization.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English.

Compensation: Hourly rate for this position is $17.20 plus an additional $4.57 for Health and Welfare benefit. Paid vacation, holiday, and sick leave.
