Overview
The Payroll Compliance and System Manager will oversee and supervise FLSA functions/regulations and ensure payroll is accurate and in compliance with government regulations.
Reports to: Corporate Controller and Director of Compensation
Responsibilities
- Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll
- Oversees appropriate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
- Facilities audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll software, systems, and procedures
- Oversees yearly W2 preparation and distribution
- Organizes cross functional work teams to process special payrolls such as yearly bonus, vacation buy-back, Holiday bonus, AWI
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficient with Dayforce
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required
- Four years of experience in payroll processing required with two years in a supervisory or management role preferred
