Overview: The Activity Assistant organizes, implements, and documents lifestyle programming that provides residents with opportunities for a high level of healthy living, well-being, engagement, stimulation, and growth.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare and implement activity programs in adherence to the monthly
- Collaborate in the planning of activity programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities for the
- Collaborate in the planning of appropriate programs for holidays and special events; assist in coordinating holiday decorations for the
- Collaborate in the preparation, organization, and distribution of the calendar of events each
- Collaborate in decorating appropriate areas.
- Collaborate in storing supplies appropriately.
- Observe residents participating in programs to gauge their enjoyment and obtain feedback to improve programming.
- Document resident participation in programs and self-directed
- Communicate resident changes and program effectiveness with Activities Supervisor.
- Interact with residents, guests, and staff in an atmosphere of
- Protect the privacy of the resident when communicating oral and written information.
- Collect and pass out monthly calendars, event flyers, and resident mail.
- Carry out resident council & family circle duties.
- Assessing residents upon intake to ensure care plan leads to highest quality of life and reflects previous lifestyle choices.
- Keep activity areas maintained.
- Adhere to and enforce safety procedures.
- All other duties as assigned within the scope of the job.
You Have:
- High School Diploma required; Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred but not required.
- One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
