**Position Overview:**
You will play a key role in assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in maintaining the highest culinary standards while providing guests with an exceptional dining experience. You will oversee the preparation and presentation of exquisite dishes, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation align with our high standards.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Viceroy Snowmass. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in overseeing daily kitchen operations, supervising, mentoring, and training junior kitchen staff, contributing to menu planning, and ensuring the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes is of the highest quality.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in overseeing daily kitchen operations.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Contribute to menu planning, helping to create seasonal and innovative dishes that highlight local ingredients.
- Evaluate and implement new recipes and menu items.
- Maintain inventory control, ensuring that all kitchen supplies and ingredients are stocked and available for use.
- Assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Handle food orders and manage kitchen schedules, ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen workflow.
- Take responsibility for various kitchen sections (e.g., grill, pastry, etc.), ensuring all dishes are prepared to order and according to specifications.
- Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure proper communication and a seamless dining experience.
- Assist in the implementation and enforcement of kitchen procedures, ensuring high standards of food production and cleanliness.
- Help with menu changes and special event planning, assisting in creating unique dining experiences.
**Requirements:*
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-end hotel, restaurant, or resort setting.
- Strong culinary skills, with a passion for quality, presentation, and innovation.
- A positive, hands-on leadership approach, with the ability to motivate and guide a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to work well in a team, communicating effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability, able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
