Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pre-Op/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The position requires Pre-operative evaluation, IV insertion, Medication Administration and accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort during the critical recovery phase. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to assess patient needs rapidly, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition pre and post-surgery.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) lines as prescribed.
- Provide immediate post-operative care, including pain management and assessment of recovery progress.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care instructions and recovery expectations.
- Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in medical records.
- Respond promptly to any changes in patient conditions or emergencies.
Skills
- Proficient in critical care nursing with experience in PACU or similar settings.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols and urgent care procedures.
- Strong understanding of physiology related to anesthesia recovery.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple patients simultaneously.
